Hello, my name is Mark Banks and I am a fully qualified and very experienced Music teacher specialising on the violin and piano as well as theory of music. One of the key features of my music teaching is that I visit pupils’ home to give the lessons. This is proving to be very popular to not only those with busy families but also to adult students who like the convenience of lessons at home. I can offer lessons remotely via zoom if preferred during this covid pandemic
I have previously been the Director of Music at a specialist Music College teaching students aged 11 – 18 and have been responsible for the music education of 1400 pupils. In addition I was the Musical director and conductor of the Farnham Area Youth Orchestra for eight years with around 55 members and ages ranging from 9 – 18 years. The repertoire was entirely classically based with works typically by Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Mozart, Grieg, Bizet, Haydn and Sibelius being performed several times a year to large enthusiastic audiences. Having taught GCSE and A Level Music for many years I can offer support with composition assignments for these exams including the 4 part harmony exercises ( Bach chorales ).
I currently have pupils in all areas of Winchester so I should be able to schedule in a lesson at a time that best suits you. In addition I also have pupils in the surrounding villages and towns including the areas of Alresford and Alton so new pupils in rural locations are very welcome.
